After 11 years as director of education for Birds Georgia (formerly Georgia Audubon), Melanie Furr decided to spread her wings and embark on a new flight path, founding Feathers with Furr in 2025. Her goal is to continue to connect people with the joy and wellbeing that comes from observing and listening to birds, building community along the way. She believes that deepening people’s connections to birds and the greater world around them is a vital catalyst for conservation, benefitting both birds and people.
